The intro to the song started out as a finger exercise. The lyrics came easy though I was always conscious that there must be a hundred other songs with the same title. Back and forth piano patterns that made for a nice, sad, little ballad. Enjoy.
lyrics
Everyday that passes by, I pray the Lord to be my guide
And take me from this horrid place and shoot me out to outer space
Oh why....
Can you mend this bleeding heart because it's falling all apart
Ever since you've gone away, my heart is such a lonely place
And I don't dream anymore
What could I be dreaming for
No, I don't dream anymore
What could I be dreaming for...
It used to be you and me as far as anyone could see
But I wanted freedom now I'm paying the price to be free
And I'm a prisoner of your love
It's you that I've been thinking of
I'm out of bondage but my heart still isn't free
Time goes by oh day by day and your memory doesn't fade away
Your name is running through my blood
Why am I so still in love
Oh why....
Can you save this breaking heart because it's falling all apart
And ever since you've gone away my heart is such a lonely place
And I don't dream anymore
What could I be dreaming for
No, I don't dream anymore
What could I be dreaming for...
It used to be you and me as far as anyone could see
But I wanted freedom now I'm paying the price to be free
And I'm a prisoner of your love
It's you that I've been thinking of
I'm out of bondage but my heart still isn't free
I'm a prisoner of your love
It's you that I've been thinking of
I'm out of bondage but my heart still isn't free
